Chromeo Day 12, Vancouver, BC

So waking up in Vancouver was a bonus for us today. This is the home of the fantastic 49th Parallel Coffee Co., master roasters and proud servers of Epic Espresso, which is one of my top 3 all-time coffees. Going to the mecca was an absolute necessity, and thankfully it wasn't too far away. A quick cab ride and we were sitting in no time at all.

I have to say it was pretty weird. Not at all what I expected. Turns out that they serve their macchiatos with one shot instead of two (which is what seems to be the standard). The flavour was drastically different and I wasn't ready for it. I still have yet to decide if I liked it... Thought about it some more over breakfast at Hell's Kitchen, and all I can say is that I have to wait til I come back to town in January and try it again...

But I'm sure very few of you care about my coffee exploits. We are here, after all, to put on a (not so) rock show at The Commodore Ballroom, which is a classic venue, and one of my favourites. Totally pro, totally smooth, really good day. It got pretty hectic around show time trying to sort out guest lists and last-second set time changes, but it went off and it was totally insane. The Chromeo kids like their dance-funk. It's really nuts.

After the show I hung out a bit with my cousin and her husband, but I couldn't push it too late. I have to fly to Phoenix at 5am to hook up with The Stills and start something that's going to go for the rest of the year...
